JAMES BOND title sequences

A title sequence is the method by which cinematic films or television programs present their title, key production and cast members, or both, utilizing conceptual visuals and sound. It usually follows but should not be confused with the opening credits, which are generally nothing more than a series of superimposed text. The Bottom Line They hook you. They grab you. They're designed to make you want more, they prepare you for what your about to see and almost often set the mood. Each title sequence i have made a link for above come from different genres and you can tell within first seconds of watching and i think that is what makes a good title sequence.

NOTEBOOK STORY BOARD FOR OPENING TITLE

The opening of the notebook is very dark and as it gets lighter it opens into an establishing shot of a large lake with the sun setting and the camera focusses for 24 seconds in the same position. The soft focus gives a romantic effect the sun set is significant as it is at the end of the day it could suggest what is to come as the film is about the end of there lives together. The camera jumps to a long shot of a figure of someone in a canoe, the idea of some one and water is very soothing and calming. The shot then moves to a close up of a long shot of the back of the person sailing into the distance which looks as if it is about to end just like there lives perhaps. As the lighting fades darker it dissolves into another high angle establishing shot of the surroundings of trees and the lake. You see a long shot of a large white house with birds flying towards it and then its cuts to a close up of the back of an older lady looking out of the distance into the lake and the sun set watching the birds fly past. The lady looks sad and distressed and alone in a large house as if she is trapped and wanting the freedom of flight which the birds signify. In the background there is music which has no dialogue in it, it is very calm and gentle makes the audience feel relaxed and gives of the impression how its based on love and romance and sadness and makes the movie seem more serious.Jate (Piano Montage) It is a romantic comedy, and the peaceful surroundings of the gentle lake emphasizes the peacefulness, the forever love, the never ending lake. As waters goes on forever. The dimmed lighting represent the seriousness of the film and the equality of love. in the opening sequence it sets the tone of the movie in a very fragile and effortless way.

GREASE STORY BOARD FOR OPENING TITLE
Paramount pictures presents Grease in a characterized way the use of cartooning the actors and showing their personalities in a more fun approach. The movie opens onto a very old radio which gives the audience the idea that the movie is possibly set in the 1950s. The opening titles cross cuts through each actor and actress showing the audience who the main characters are and what they are like . For example the cross cut from 'Danny Zuko' to 'Sandy' Danny Zuko shows himself to be messy and a bit of a slob they show this by covering his bedroom with clothes scattered everywhere and him with messy hair and exagerated the amount of effort he puts into his hair as if its his trade mark. The presenters have presented Sandy to be very girly and poised and they have used the idea of animals in her room to make her seem warming and kind. The titles show how the movie is fun and free spirited the wide range of colors and fun editing prepares the audience for a fun filled film which it is and always will be known for BEING FUN!

SUPERBAD is a very funny film and the audience would know that by how the opening titles have been produced, it opens with a simple background of a range of different colors. This part of the opening is when the producers of the movie and the company behind the movie are introduced to the audience. The yellow may make it easier for the reader to see the writing. Instead of just introducing one character to the next, the middle of the shot appears a star from which appears the next main character. The backgrounds change from yellow to purple to green.
